Prop Wizard

The Prop Wizard creates a starting configuration from a guided set of choices. Use it to generate common prop patterns faster than building every input, output, rule, and operator control by hand. If you have already completed initial setup and want to go back to the Prop Wizard you can access it by navigating to Open Configuration > System Setup > Prop Wizard. It will ask if you’d like to take a backup of your current config and then ask for a confirmation before reseting this controller and rebooting itself to launch the Prop Wizard. This reset does not erase the device name and network credentials but it does clear everything else.

Firmware 1.1 also adds setup presets and a preset apply flow. Presets are useful when you want a known starting point without walking through the full wizard again, or when support provides a baseline configuration for a specific build pattern.

Using the Prop Wizard

  1. Choose your starting prop game base format.
  2. Fill in the input, output, feedback, and integration choices.
  3. Review the generated summary.
  4. Apply the wizard configuration.
  5. Let the controller save and reboot if required.
  6. You will be presented with the Board Pinout page so you can begin making your connections right away.

Wizard choices

ChoiceWhat it affects
Template or archetypeThe overall behavior pattern, such as sequence, keypad, RFID, timed game, or simple logic
Input countHow many source inputs or readers are generated
Output typeWhat activates when solved (i.e. a mag lock or a solenoid latch)
Feedback type/levelWhat feedback elements exist and when they give feedback
Stage countHow many phases or puzzle stages are created for multi-stage templates
Integration role and protocolOptional MQTT, OSC, HTTP integrations for external systems

Setup presets

Use setup presets when the prop already matches a known hardware and behavior pattern. Review the preset summary before applying it, export a backup if you are changing an existing controller, then apply the preset and inspect the generated hardware, behavior, lighting, and operator controls before wiring the final prop.

After applying the wizard

The wizard may create items in several sections.

Expanding on your own

You can use the Prop Wizard’s output out the door or you can continue to add specific behavior and expand upon it but remember that to re-run the Prop Wizard it will erase anything you do so make sure you’ve gotten it as close to your finalized state as possible before continuing to edit the configuration manually.
