DMX Scenes
DMX Scenes store reusable fixture states that can be played from behavior actions or operator controls.
Display prerequisite
This section appears after at least one DMX-capable module is configured in Configure > Connections > Inputs, Outputs, and Modules.
UI path
Open Configure > Lighting > DMX Scenes.
What this section controls
Use scenes when multiple DMX channels need to move together as a named look, such as lobby idle, alarm, reveal, blackout, or solved lighting.
Controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Scene name | Creates the name used by actions and operator controls. |
| Fixture/channel rows | Defines which DMX addresses are written by the scene. |
| Channel value | Sets the output value for each channel, usually from 0 to 255. |
| Add/remove channel | Controls which DMX addresses are included in the scene. |
| Test/play action | Sends the scene to the connected DMX output when available. |
How to configure it
- Add the DMX module in Connections first.
- Open the DMX Scenes section.
- Create a new scene and name it by the look it represents.
- Add the DMX channels the scene should control.
- Enter channel values for the look.
- Test the scene on the fixture.
- Save the configuration.
- Call the scene from a behavior action, sequence, or operator control.
Practical guidance
Avoid putting unrelated fixture states in one scene unless they always need to change together. Smaller scenes are easier to combine and troubleshoot.
