DMX Live
DMX Live is a hands-on test area for checking DMX output before turning fixture values into scenes or behavior actions.
Display prerequisite
This section appears after at least one DMX-capable module is configured in Configure > Connections > Inputs, Outputs, and Modules.
UI path
Open Configure > Lighting > DMX Live.
What this section controls
Use DMX Live while commissioning fixtures, mapping channels, or diagnosing a fixture that is not responding to a scene.
Controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Channel/address | Selects the DMX address being tested. |
| Value | Sends a live value to the selected channel. |
| Fixture test rows | Let you adjust several channels while identifying what each channel controls. |
| Clear/reset | Returns test values to a safe baseline when available. |
How to use it
- Add and wire the DMX module first.
- Open the DMX Live section.
- Move one channel value at a time and watch the fixture response.
- Record which channel controls dimmer, color, pan, tilt, strobe, or other fixture functions.
- Transfer the confirmed values into DMX Scenes.
- Save the final scene configuration.
Practical guidance
Use DMX Live as a commissioning tool, not as the final show logic. Once values are confirmed, store them as scenes so the behavior system can trigger them consistently.
